Kinesiology
The practice of Kinesiology involves the assessment and promotion of movement and exercise to rehabilitate injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve general health and wellness. As the science of human movement, Kinesiology uses biomechanics, physiology, neurology, and psychosocial perspectives to understand how our bodies move and function throughout our lifespans, and in any state of health, injury, or disease.
As a Regulated Kinesiologist, I help individuals of all ages and physical capabilities with individualized exercise programs that are appropriate their specific medical history, current and previous injuries, chronic conditions, age, and fitness level. Over the past 15 years I have gained considerable experience working with older adults and individuals with complex medical histories who want to safely increase their strength, mobility, balance, and cardiovascular fitness.
Virtual Kinesiology
In order to provide access to movement therapy while mitigating risks of COVID-19, Kinesiology sessions are available ‘virtually’ using Zoom Telehealth (the secure, privacy-law compliant version of Zoom) through the Embodia Academy. I am delighted to help you be active and well during these challenging times, from the comfort and safety of our respective homes!
The past few months have demonstrated that virtual appointments can be a safe and effective option for many people, and it has become quite straightforward to set up. If we determine this is a viable option for you, I can coach you through the process - including how to be an effective cameraperson so I can see how you move!
In-home Kinesiology
Kinesiology sessions are also available in-person as a home visit. While home-visits are limited in availability and depend on where you live, please contact me to see if a home visit is possible.
